Sunil Kumar Gooroodyal thinks doctors of the Jeetoo hospital aggravated his son’s health.
They are in limbo. Sunil Kumar and his wife Amrita Gooroodyal do not understand how their son, Rohan, 11 years old, was admitted to Dr. A.G. Jeetoo hospital for inflammation of appendicitis, was able to land at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). They maintain that there has been a lack of communication between them and the doctors, and suspect of medical negligence.
The case was referred to the Police from Dr. A.G. Jeetoo hospital, the Ministry of Health and a director of the institution. Requested, the press officer of the Ministry of Health says they received the complaint from Rohan’s parents and that an internal investigation was opened.
Questioned by L’Express, the father explains that on the 8th of March Rohan, who suffered from stomach aches and vomiting, was taken to hospital. Here, the hospital staff informed him that his son must undergo a surgery. “Nous n’avons pas eu de craintes, sachant que l’inflammation était minime et pouvait être traitée,” says the employee of a construction firm.
But the surgery that took place the next day did not go as planned. Sunil Kumar Gooroodyal learns from a doctor who operated on his son that there were complications. “Il m’a dit qu’ils ont malencontreusement coupé un bout de son intestin et qu’ils ont dû en enlever une partie. Depuis, ça fait deux mois que mon fils est à l’ICU.”
