1,300 Cannabis Plants Uprooted Across Mauritius In Just One Day

The sleuths of the Anti Drug and Smuggling Unit with assistance from the police helicopter made several raids across the country yesterday.  875 cannabis plants were uprooted in a forest in Rivière-Noire.

Furthermore, on fallow land at Clemencia 368 cannabis plants measuring between 10 and 60 cm were discovered.

55 cannabis plants were uprooted in a sugarcane field in Sebastopol. At St Julien Village, 40 plants  of the same drug were found. And  17 plants were uprooted on a fallow land in Albion.

None of the growers of these plants is known at the moment and in just one day, more than 1,300 cannabis plants were uprooted by the bloodhounds of ADSU .

An investigation is ongoing.
