She had a little girl’s dreams. Despite being 10 year old, she knew what she wanted to do later. Stella, called Tella by her mom, wanted to become a nurse “to help others.” But she left this world tragically after falling into a pool in Trou d’Eau Douce.
Stella Varlet would have turned 11 on July 27. The small girl had invited her friends to celebrate her birthday as she wanted to mark it as a memorable one. But there will be no party for her. The student of CPE is gone in dramatic circumstances on July 9. She was playing with his brother and one of their friends near a pool when the drama occurred. The resident of Trou d’Eau Douce unfortunately did not survive her injuries.
Poonam, the mother of Stella is somehow trying to overcome this painful ordeal after she was met four days after the tragedy. Sitting on a chair surrounded by his brother and his mother Anjali, she still has red eyes after crying a lot. “Tout me rappelle ma petite Tella. Li ti telma kontan zwe. Stella ti mo lame drwat,” she said in tears.
Stella was the happiness of the family and a pampered child. Poonam remembers every moment spent with her. Stella inn vini. Li ti kokas ek ti enn bebe trankil,” she said. Two years later, Poonam gave birth to a son. “Stella était trop contente. Ils étaient très complices,” she said.
Another moment of intense emotions: the first day of Tella at the kindergarten. It was at the Sir Pierre Dalais School of Government, a few meters from her house that she began her schooling. Les mamans le savent,” she said. “Lekol la ena so maternel tou. Gradually, Stella has adapted to this new environment. Last year, she was confirmed in the Notre-Dame du Bon Secours Church.
Studious, Stella was very applied to her studies. She would have participated in the CPE exams this year. Little Stella told her mother that she performed better for the second semester.
