Abela is no more. Indeed, during the last hours the moderate tropical storm weakened into a tropical depression according to says the Vacoas weather station. On Tuesday 19 July, it was located about 640 km north – northwest of Mauritius. It continues to move at a speed of 20 km/h to the west – southwest.
However, the weather will remain windy and rainy. Heavy ain is expected on Tuesday afternoon. Water accumulations are expected in the east and the central plateau mainly. The weather will remain cloudy overnight and on Wednesday morning.
The public is advised to avoid places at risk such as the banks of rivers and other waterways.
