Many Mauritians living in London claim to have been victims of a scam.
The suspect is none other than a Mauritian who allegedly used the name of a company that went bankrupt selling fake online air tickets; Tickets available at reduced rates.
The “clients” had to perform a transfer to the suspect’s bank account to “receive” their e-tickets. But once at the airport, these “customers” were told that their tickets were not valid.
Maha Mehra and his family say they have been victims of this scam. In a statement on Friday July 22, he alleged that the suspect owes him over Rs 250,000.
Maha Mehra says he alerted the authorities in London.
