They were both hit by a motorcycle in the last few days. 57 year old Antonio Ladegourdie Henri and 84 year old Daneshwar Ramsurrun both died from their respective injuries on Thursday July 28. This brings the number of road fatalities to 82 since the beginning of the year.
Antonio Henry Ladegourdie, a resident of St. Rémi, Flacq, was admitted to the intensive care unit at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam hospital on July 23 after being hit by a motorcycle. He parked his car on the side of the road because of a nature call when he was knocked down on the asphalt. The motorcyclist, a 38 year old mechanic from Roches-Noires, could not avoid him. The alcohol test performed on the latter had proved negative. According to the autopsy, the fifties suffered a head injury.
Daneshwar Ramsurrun died after two weeks in hospital and suffered a brain hemorrhage as a result of the accident. This inhabitant of Notre Dame in Montagne Longue was hit by a motorcycle in the early morning of July 13. The motorcycle was driven by a resident of the same locality. He was tested negative for alcohol test.
