On the 5th of August 2016, 183 police officers were under suspension for various reasons, said Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth, who was responding to a question from the MMM member Veda Baloomoody in the National Assembly on Tuesday, August 9.
“En général, ces officiers suspendus sont en train de toucher leurs salaires,” said the Prime Minister. Adding to that, some also do other jobs. “L’Independent Police Complaints Commission va voir tout cela,” promised the Prime Minister.
Sir Anerood Jugnauth also pointed out that the Commissioner of Police (CP) issued a form on July 2, 2015, asking all Divisional Commanders to complete investigations into the suspended policemen.
