Serious Accident At Camp De Masque: Fight Against Death After Motorcyclist Jean Luce Joseph Hit A Parked Van

A serious road accident occurred in Camp de Masque on Sunday. Jean Joseph Luce, a resident of Bramsthan, was on his motorcycle and returning from a wedding he hit a van that was parked near the college at Camp De Masque.

The driver of the van, Chundish S., 24, alerted the police of the region who rushed to the scene. The victim had multiple injuries and was taken to the Flacq Hospital by the Emergency Medical Assistance Service. He was admitted to the intensive care unit and placed on life support. His condition inspires serious concerns.

As for the van driver, he was taken to the police station for questioning. He underwent a breath test which proved negative. He said he was going towards Flacq from L’Unité when he stopped at Camp De Masque to take rest. Soon after, he heard a noise. “Je suis sorti de mon véhicule et j’ai constaté que le motocycliste nous a percuté de l’arrière,” the young man said in his testimony. After his interrogation, he was allowed to go home.

The motorcyclist’s sister said that her brother was returning from a wedding. “Mon frère exerce comme maçon. Mais durant les week-ends, il est serveur à temps partiel. Jean ti al fer serveur dans enn mariaz et li ti pe retourn lakaz. Vers le minuit, la police m’a informé de cet accident. C’est triste qu’il soit victime d’un accident la veille de la fête de l’Assomption. Je souhaite qu’il se rétablisse au plus vite possible. Depuis l’accident Il resté  inconscient. Je prie qu’il sorte du danger,” she said. The investigation is led by the sergeant Nauthoo under the supervision of inspector Aumeer.
