A fight erupted into violent clashes in the Idrice Goomany street in Plaisance in the early evening of Sunday August 28. Several police units including the Special Mobile Force were dispatched on site. The house of Seeneevassen Murthen, 37, was vandalized.
According to him, the perpetrator is Fabiani Josian Grégoire, a local resident. The origin of the dispute: a fight in school between children of the two families. The family members then came into action.
The stepsister of the latter filed a complaint against the assault of Grégoire family members. She explained that she no longer feels safe in the area. After Sunday’s incident, Seeneevassen Murthen recorded a statement at the Stanley Police Station.
For his part, Fabiani Josian Grégoire had filed a complaint against the Murthen family for assault. In his testimony, he alleged that his 14 year old daughter was attacked. This time, he denies having ransacked the house of Murthen and threatening them. He says he went to his house to ask for explanations about the rumors that were circulating about him and maintained that he was not armed.
