Two thieves broke into a shop in Stanley at dawn on Monday August 29. They took away Rs 40,000 and were unaware that a surveillance camera filmed them. The owner saved this money for qurbani as part of Eid ul-Adha.
Tarik (name changed), 44, was awakened by his brother on Monday. The latter told him that a friend saw two thieves that broke into his shop. Without delay, Tarik went to the scene but the robbers had fled. He recorded a statement at the police station of Stanley on Monday morning.
He found that the lock has been forced and he saw a car with two people inside. On seeing him, they fled.
“Les voleurs ont emporté l’argent du qurbani et c’est inexcusable. Avant qu’ils ne prennent la fuite, je les ai approchés pour leur demander une explication. Mais ils m’ont insulté,” said Tarik.
The sleuths of the Crime Branch of Rose Hill are looking for two suspects. A matter to follow..
