Mare D’Albert: Twenty Goats Slaughtered Due To Parasitic Infection

After FMD and salmonella, goats have been struck by coccidiosis disease which is a parasitic infection contagious allure.

Note: Coccidiosis is a disease of birds and mammals that chiefly affects the intestines, caused by coccidia.


To date, twenty goats from a herd of 70 from a breeder in Mare d’Albert were shot. According to the farmer, five others are seriously ill.

Dr. Deodass Meenowa, chief veterinary officer at the Ministry of Agro-Industry and Food Security says that Coccidiosis is not transmitted to humans.
