The officers of the Anti-Drug & Smuggling Unit (ADSU) made a nice haul during the weekend. They uprooted marijuana plants in four operations in several regions of the island. The market value of the plants is estimated at Rs 1.929 million.
During a search in a forest in La Pipe, Midlands, the anti-drug commission members have uprooted 87 plants in total. They measured between 10 and 35 cm.On the same day, the bloodhounds of the ADSU uprooted 79 cannabis plants measuring between 8 and 12 cm at Tamarind Falls.
An on the next day, that is Sunday October 2, the South Division ADSU uprooted a total of 177 cannabis plants measuring between 5 and 80 cm at Savannah and Ebène. An investigation is underway to find the planters.
