The road has claimed another victim on Tuesday October 4. Ahmadally Imran, a resident of Vallée-Pitot aged 43, was hit by a motorcyclist aged 19 while walking on the road. This brings the number of people killed on our roads since the beginning of the year to 101.
The accident occurred around 6:30 PM at Lenepveu Street in Plaine-Verte. The forties was rushed to the Dr. A. G. Jeetoo hospital. However, the victim pushed his last breath around 9:00 PM.
The breath test performed on the motorcyclist, a resident of Plaine-Verte, was negative. When questioned, the young man explained that he honked to warn Imran Ahmadally but in vain. The investigation is conducted by the sergeant Kurmah under the supervision of the assistant superintendent of police Hosanee.
