Two people working in the area 5 of the Mauritius Freeport Development at Red Sea were arrested on Wednesday October 19 and Thursday, after 18 tons of fish were washed away in a cold room. The booty is estimated at Rs 700,000.
It’s on Tuesday night that the manager of the cold room found the stolen goods. The inhabitant of St-Pierre also noticed that some fish containers were found with another operator.
The port police were alerted and they secured the area. And a raid was conducted by officers of the police station and their colleagues of the Criminal Investigation Division at the operator. The 18 tonnes of tuna were seized there. The investigation is conducted by the chief inspector Navin Mohesh.
