Joey Rudy, 32, a resident of Bois-Marchand, was wanted by the criminal brigade of Terre Rouge.
He is suspected of being involved in several robberies. The Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of Terre Rouge raided the suspect’s house in Residences Bois-Marchand on Saturday October 22, at 11:00 AM. During the search, two cannabis plants, heroin doses, tablets and more syringes were found.
Rudy Joey was not at home during the operation in collaboration with the Police Intervention Group Mauritius (GIPM). His girlfriend Anne Marie Vaillant and the son of the latter, Christopher Paul, were there.The cannabis plants were in a pot in the yard.
Anne Marie Vaillant and his son were taken to the premises of the CID of Terre-Rouge where they were interrogated. Anne Marie Vaillant, who has been in trouble with the police in the past for a drug case, said she ignores from where the drug came from.
His son Christopher Paul would have told investigators that one of the cannabis plants belonged to him and the other was to Rudy Joey. The latter was arrested soon after. He confessed that the cannabis plant belonged to him, and the heroin doses, tablets and syringes.
On Sunday, the three suspects appeared before the Bail and Remand Court and they responded to a provisional charge of drug possession. Anne Marie Vaillant and his son Christopher Paul regained parole after providing a deposit of Rs 5 000 each. As for Rudy Joey, he is still in custody.
The investigation, conducted by the inspector Derochoonee, is under the supervision of SP Banarsee.
