SSR International Airport: Policeman Arrested For Drug Possession Worth Rs 35 Million

A 25 year old policeman, assigned to Piton police station, was arrested on Tuesday 25th October at Plaisance airport after the discovery of two kilograms of heroin with a street value of Rs 35 million in his bag on wheels.

Officers of the Anti-Narcotics Section of the Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) and the drug squad (ADSU) discovered this large quantity of drugs concealed in a parcel that was in the bag.


The policeman was returning from Madagascar and he is now in custody. Another suspect was arrested in the case.
