Seventeen-year-old was one of four people who took ill after consuming synthetic drug at house party.
A teenager remained in a critical condition in a clinic on Thursday night after consuming a synthetic drug at a house party in Cap Malheureux on Tuesday October 25.
The 17-year-old, from Grand Bay, was one of four people who took ill after consuming a powdered form of a drug at the party at Cap Malheureux. All four, aged from 17 to 27, were rushed to the hospital.
Those who consumed the substance by smoking it subsequently recovered. However, it is understood the 17-year-old smoked the synthetic drug in a bong. He remained critical but stable in the clinic’s intensive care unit on Thursday night.
The incident has led the police officers to issue a warning that the synthetic drugs are all highly dangerous. A police investigation has also been opened.
