A resident in the north of Mauritius was arrested by the police for cannabis cultivation after the discovery of 249 cannabis plants in his barn and yard.
It was during a police operation last Tuesday November 1 that members of the drug squad [ADSU] of Grand Bay discovered the plants.
Part of cannabis plants were cultivated in a stable, and the rest was in his yard.
The suspect was brought to court on Wednesday November 2 for his provisional indictment. He was renewed in custody after appearing in court. A police investigation is currently underway.
