A 14-year-old girl who lives in the small village of Carreau-Esnouf, near Plaine-Magnien, was missing since Friday October 28. But after five days, her relatives could heave a sigh of relief upon learning that she had been found.
Indeed, it is at the Mahebourg police station where the father of a young man of 19, Ashvin Gungah, brought the missing girl on Wednesday November 2.
The minor, according to our information, was in the company of Ashvin Gungah since Friday. They went out together and rented a studio in Blue-Bay to house their getaway.
Ashvin Gungah, who lives in Mahébourg, was arrested and detained at the police station of the locality, as part of the police investigation.
The young girl was transferred to the Plaine Magnien police station and placed under the responsibility of the Criminal Investigation Division of the locality. Hers parents were informed of this decision.
The young man is not a stranger to the police because he has previously been arrested for sex with a minor (Editor’s note, not with the same girl) and was released on bail. However, he did not comply with certain conditions attached to his release on parole.
