More than Rs 5 millions, suspected of originating from drug trafficking, were discovered at a resident, 30, of cité Sainte-Claire, Goodlands.
The discovery was made during a police operation around 5:00 AM on Thursday Nov. 3 at cité Sainte-Claire. Synthetic drugs and cannabis were also seized from the suspect.
He was arrested and was taken to the central barracks for questioning.
Three other suspects – two men and a woman – were arrested for other drug offenses. Two of them, including the woman, were released on bail after appearing in court.
This police operation has seen the participation of the drug squad members [ADSU] of the Special Support Unit (SSU), commandos of the Special Mobile Force (SMF) and the National Coast Guard (NCG), aided by sniffer dogs, says DCP Choolun Bhojoo from the ADSU.
The cité Sainte-Claire residents were very angry after the police raid. The DCP Choolun Bhojoo says that there was no incident during this operation.
