After Hassenjee Ruhomaully, the Central Criminal Investigation Department (CCID) is investigating his wife Farihah Ruhomaully. She was convened on Saturday November 5 to give explanations to the investigators on a photo-montage of Pravind Jugnauth that she would have shared on Facebook last week. This follows the testimony of an activist of one of the ruling parties.
In the incriminating photo, the face of the Minister of Finance has been mounted on a body wearing a swimsuit. The activist filed a complaint for nuisance under section 46 (2) after the image appeared in the newsfeed on the social platform.
On Saturday, Farihah Ruhomaully argued her right to silence in the presence of her lawyer Akil Bissessur. She says to be victim of persecution. The young woman will again be summoned to answer questions from the IT Unit of the police.
This is not the first time that the Ruhomaully couple has been the talk of the town. Hassenjee and his wife were arrested after sharing a photo of a “Credit Memo” of Showkutally Soodhun.
The document indicated that the deputy prime minister had undergone surgery in the Apollo Bramwell hospital, in August 2010.
