In the wee hours of Saturday morning November 12, around 1:15 AM, the Rivière-du-Rempart police were alerted that a car overturned on its side on the main road to Roches-Noires.
On site, the police discovered that the three occupants of the vehicle were injured. They were to be taken to the hospital in Flacq where the death of the driver, Maryen Moonsamy, 26, who worked as a mechanic, was found. The victim lived at Jugnauth Road in Rivière-du-Rempart.
Among the two passengers, two brothers who live in Temple Road, Rivière-du-Rempart, one of them has been admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital while the other is admitted to the casualty room. The circumstances of this accident are still unknown. The autopsy of Maryen Moonsamy will be conducted on Saturday November 12.
