A 32-year-old accountant, living in Quartier Militaire, went to a bank in Bell Village with his driver yesterday, Monday November 14 when they were attacked by two motorcyclists.
The latter crushed the wind-shield of the accountant’s car with a hammer before seizing the keys of the car. They then handed over two bags containing the sum of Rs 325,000 and barred checks worth Rs 2.5 million. The driver was slightly injured during this altercation.
Police were alerted and mended at the scene. The driver and the accountant were transported to the nearby hospital for treatment. A police investigation is currently underway to find the thieves.
