They were arrested following a seizure of synthetic drugs during a police raid in Cité Ste-Claire, Goodlands on Friday November 18. Ruddy Clive Gujadhur, a 24-year-old homeless man, Jacques Didier Domingue Pierre-Louis, 26, Pierre Gino Natalie Sitamal, 34 and a 17-year-old boy appeared before the Bail and Remand Court on Saturday November 19. The police objected to their conditional release and were returned to the police cell. The 17-year-old was detained at the Juvenile Detention Center in Petite-Rivière.
According to the police, the suspects can interfere with witnesses or even escape. Moreover, they wish to launch a strong signal to better combat the proliferation of drugs and to protect the society. According to the police, “this is the only way to avoid an outcry audience”.
As regards to the suspects, a charge of “drug dealing-possession of synthetic cannabis for the purpose of distribution” was brought against them. They will have to appear before the Mapou court on Monday November 21.
In addition, Mr. Gino Natalie Sitamal’s lawyer, Mr. Steeven Sauhoboa, presented a motion for the release of his client. It will be debated on Thursday November 24.
The investigation is being conducted by Sergeants Rughununden and Agathe under the supervision of CI Moodhoo and DCP Bojhoo.
