The National Coast Guard issued an alert on Thursday, November 24th. The presence of jellyfish was detected in the lagoon of Mont-Choisy and around the beach as well.
The public is thus advised not to venture there. Getting stung by jellyfish causes a burning sensation, after a sharp pain, like an electric shock. The victim may also experience itching for several days. There are also headaches, vomiting and respiratory discomfort.
