Deputy Prime Minister Showkutally Soodhun says there were no incidents at the end of the MSM congress at the Dr Idrice-Goomany center in Plaine-Verte on Thursday evening.
Showkutally Soodhun, questioned by journalists on Friday afternoon November 25, after leaving the Council of Ministers meeting, said that the MSM congress went well.
“There was no problem. It was later that we learned that some street vendors were a bit “wild” against Anwar Husnoo [Minister of Regional Administrations],” he explains.
Showkutally Soodhun argues that it is “clear that a dozen people who do not live in Plaine-Verte” have come to make their voice heard:
“Monn get sa dan video. Monn trouv zot. Zot inn vini. Nou enn pei demokrasi. Enn bann dimunn ena sertin isu, zot vini.”
Showkutally Soodhun says that the MSM leader Pravind Jugnauth entered his car [Showkutally Soodhun car] after the congress, because “we were going to dinner”: “We had not dined yet.”
The government’s # 3 says you have to sit around a table if street vendors have problems: “There are solutions to all the problems. But it must be done in a civilized way.”
More than a dozen people presenting themselves as street vendors had visited the Dr Idrice-Goomany center on Thursday evening November 24. At the end of the congress organized by the MSM, they booed Finance Minister Pravind Jugnauth and Minister of Regional Administrations Anwar Husnoo.
“Les nou travay, zot pe fer dominer ar malere !” Chanted a group of men and women who had gathered at the entrance to the Dr. Idrice-Goomany center.
